SCOTLAND BOY is the extraordinary new album showcasing the sensational and heartbreakingly beautiful treble voice of the young Scottish schoolboy Moray West. It features Classical, Scots and popular songs and has been made with The Orchestra of Scottish Opera and many of Scotland’s finest professional musicians to help raise funds for Ciaran Pryce who suffered a serious neck injury in a rugby accident while playing for his high school.
This timeless, eclectic collection of songs is a truly special album.

Here are some of the best-known and most-loved songs from the West of Scotland, together with several newer songs from Scotland’s finest songwriters. They’ll have you smiling, singing along, tapping your feet and might even bring a bit of a nostalgic tear to your eye - in the nicest possible way of course!
This is a brand new album from the original Clydesiders: Sandy Kelso (vocals/guitar), John Graham (vocals/guitar/fiddle/mandolin/banjo), Dave Whitton (vocals/guitar/whistles/mandolin/bodhran) from the 1970s, with songwriters Duncan McCrone (vocals/guitar) and Cy Jack (vocals/bass/keyboards) who joined in the early 1980s and, last but not least World renowned fiddler Chris Stout who, as a student in the 1990s, played hundreds of concerts with the band, giving the sound so much of the dynamic energy here on Scottish Folk Songs Of The West.

The idea for this album came about following a discussion concerning a film score. Tim Hollier, publisher and film music supervisor (and who also wears many other hats) had the vision to commission me to write The Edinburgh Suite for The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards and orchestra. Ultimately this became the album you have now, titled The Angels’ Share.
This is my seventh album to date and has been one of the most fulfilling projects so far, especially working alongside wonderful professionals and very decent folk. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all involved. You know who you are…

The pipers and drummers have relished the opportunity to work with Phamie and the team at Metropolis and have enjoyed the special challenge of bringing together the very different tones and textures of the pipes, drums, Celtic harp and other elements of the orchestra. The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards enjoy the freedom of the City of Edinburgh so … it is wholly fitting they have been able to collaborate in “The Angels’ Share”.

On the wind from Edinburgh Castle. One thousand musicians and performers from across the globe took the Esplanade of Edinburgh Castle by storm this summer at the annual Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
Traditional favourites such as the Massed Pipes & Drums were joined by amongst others, the 90 strong Braziliian Marine Corps Martial Band, Bavaria's German Mountain Army Band and a unique Dutch Bicycle Band.
Staged once again alongside the impressive backcloth of Edinburgh Castle and held in a magnificent new £16m amphitheatre, the show's theme for 2011 was "of The SEa" and featured lead service, the Royal Navy with the Massed Bands of Her Majesty's Royal Marines.
Music, colour and theatre defined this nautical-themed event as a multi-national and multi-cultural cast enthralled audiences at 25 sold-out performances of the 62nd Castle Esplanade spectacular.

Piper Eric Rigler’s skills on the Uileann Pipes make him one of the world’s most sought after Celtic musicians. Eric played on the original soundtrack for Mel Gibson’s motion picture Braveheart and features throughout this recording with the Bill Garden Orchestra.
The title track Braveheart Trilogy is a specially adapted arrangement from composer James Horner’s original film soundtrack. This album also includes many of Scotland’s best loved anthems featuring orchestral and traditional folk band arrangements, and as such it is a must for any musical collection.
The DVD presentation provides a wonderful visual backdrop to the music with scenes of Scotland including Fingal’s Cave, Iona, South Uist, Portree, The Cuillins, Barra, Mull, Tobermory, The Cobbler, Inveraray, Dunoon, Loch Lomond, Loch Fyne, Kyles, Arran, Glencoe, Ben Nevis and St Andrews and more.

Pipes & Drums of Denny & Dunipace Play Scotland's Best is a standard collection of marches, reels, airs, hornpipes, and strathspeys. Like a college marching band playing its school's fight song, it' offers a reliable slice of Scottish tradition that doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is. Highlights of the album include "Lament: Flowers of the Forest," "Polka and Jigs: The Black Watch Polka/Mull of Kintyre," and lovely omission of the usually required rendition of "Amazing Race." ames Christopher Monger
