Eve Graham is equally at home, whether signing Contemporary Rock, Pop or Country Music. On his album she teams up, once again, with producer David Mackay, who crafted Eve’s original hits with the New Seekers. Together, they have chosen songs from some of the world’s most prolific songwriters and included songs from new writer friends in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, the UK and Australia. There’s also a sprinkling of Eve’s celtic heritage and a contribution from the former Piper to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The result is an album, refreshing in its diversity, yet with a definite lean towards a country theme, all bound together by Eve’s unmistakeable voice and her power to entertain.

The Steel Guitar, an instrument which can produce magical voice like harmonies was invented in the Hawaiian Islands at the end of the 19th Century. Today the Lap Steel as it is sometimes known can be heard in many different musical styles ranging from Country, Blues and Pop to Indian Classical music. On this recording Scottish Steel Guitarist Dougie Stevenson plays popular tunes and traditional Scottish Airs on Dobro, Lap Steel and Pedal Steel Guitars.

This is a brand new album from the original Clydesiders: Sandy Kelso (vocals/guitar), John Graham (vocals/guitar/fiddle/mandolin/banjo), Dave Whitton (vocals/guitar/whistles/mandolin/bodhran) from the 1970s, with songwriters Duncan McCrone (vocals/guitar) and Cy Jack (vocals/bass/keyboards) who joined in the early 1980s and, last but not least World renowned fiddler Chris Stout who, as a student in the 1990s, played hundreds of concerts with the band, giving the sound so much of the dynamic energy here on Scottish Folk Songs Of The West.

Kaitlyn’s love for music began at the tender age of six. Born in Glasgow to a Scottish mother and an Irish father, it was no surprise that Celtic music was in her blood. She started playing the penny whistle in St Roch’s ceilidh band and seeing his daughter’s passion her father bought her a flute, not a classical one, but a traditional ebony flute from his homeland, the glorious Emerald Isle. It was the perfect gift and is still the flute Kaitlyn treasures today.
‘The Spirit Of The Glens’, is Kaitlyn’s debut album and marks her first assured steps into what promises to be a long journey along well loved Celtic paths.

The idea for this album came about following a discussion concerning a film score. Tim Hollier, publisher and film music supervisor (and who also wears many other hats) had the vision to commission me to write The Edinburgh Suite for The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards and orchestra. Ultimately this became the album you have now, titled The Angels’ Share.
This is my seventh album to date and has been one of the most fulfilling projects so far, especially working alongside wonderful professionals and very decent folk. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all involved. You know who you are…

The pipers and drummers have relished the opportunity to work with Phamie and the team at Metropolis and have enjoyed the special challenge of bringing together the very different tones and textures of the pipes, drums, Celtic harp and other elements of the orchestra. The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards enjoy the freedom of the City of Edinburgh so … it is wholly fitting they have been able to collaborate in “The Angels’ Share”.
